THE BIG IDEA

Song Title: Perth (Baddie)

 

Snapshot Idea

Narrative

An ode to the sheer love between J and his Australian, (more specifically) Perth fans. The video will encapsulate Jay’s full Perth experience, from the airport, special and fun moments in-between, playing Fifa with his boys, playing soccer, partying and celebrating, to performing for his beloved fans.

This treatment illustrates the overall theme of the music video as opposed to the shot list and scene breakdown. Once the theme has been approved we can move onto the next phase.

*Please note each references is merely just a reference, they each have aspects that we can pull from.

The vlog style scenes

These scenes will be scene in and out of the whole video.

We want these scenes to be as organic and natural as possible. These scenes will consist of:

  • arriving in Perth

  • walking around the streets

  • street signs

  • laughing with friends

  • playing Fifa

  • playing soccer

  • in the green room before going on stage

  • Some of the party scenes

  • In the studio

Reference videos for examples of these snippets are below.

These style snippets will have a more old school, organic and vintage feel to the post-production. This will work nicely and in conjunction to the more clean and put together scenes.

The refined scenes

These scenes will capture major moments of the trip. Colours will be well balanced and clean. Showing the very best Perth has to offer. Scenes will include the following:

  • Party scene

  • Playing football

  • The festival

  • Jay interacting with the camera as he sings his song

  • Jay by the beach (for reference see this video)

WALKING THE PERTH STREETS

LOCATIONS:

  • HIGHGATE

    -Jay will appear here during the part of the song where he mentions this location

  • MOUNT LAWLEY

    - Jay will appear here during the part of the song where he mentions this location

  • FREMANTLE

    - Jay will be seen walking the streets of Fremantle having fun with his friends

  • - Jay will drive through the streets in his car of choice (Rolls Royce, old school luxury car etc.)

  • NORTHBRIDGE

PLAYING FOOTBALL AT THE STADIUM

Optus stadium or HBF stadium will be the location

Jay will enter shot and CAMERA (B) will seamlessly follow him in from behind

Jay will address the camera at times whilst he is rapping

The essence of this scene will really come through when jay raps “’im the hardest to ever come out city my people don’t learn”

Jay will be seen playing football here too

PARTY SCENE/ GIRL SCENE

LOCATIONS: BARBES

PARTY:

  • The party scene will be shot as chill and good vibes - in alignment with the song

  • Jay will be seen sitting down chilling, sipping on a drink whilst rapping to the camera

  • Jay will be seen having fun with his boys, laughing and joking

GIRL SPECIFIC SCENE - THIS WILL BE DONE MOSTLY DURING THE CHORUS

  • This scene will shot using a cinema spotlight. Each girl will appear at different times using the spotlight. This will be symbolic of the lyric “They wanna know who, Thats not your concern”.

  • Jay will be seen singing the song to each girl, interacting with the camera and girl

CAMERA (A)

A mixture of low angles, quick fast-paced camera movements, and handheld/unstable camera shots to create an organic feel to these scenes

CAMERA (B)

Clean movements, filmed on a gimble to create smooth camera movements and transitions

THE SHOW

This scene will switch in-between Camera (A) and Camera (B).

We will film Jay coming to the venue and entering.

Hanging out with Aitch

interacting with the camera in the greenroom - keeping a relaxed demeanour

we will capture the show onstage

capturing the audience reaction and the relationship between Perth and Jay
